The project to supply 6,000 CCTV cameras to Dubai (UAE) has become one of the most important events of the year for Partizan Security. Just look at the numbers: more than 6000 IP cameras from Partizan professional series were installed under this project at 7 most popular Malls.

To gain access to such facilities in the UAE market is not easy. Partizan Security had to work long and hard. There are objective reasons for this. Here is one of them: The United Arab Emirates is an extremely high-tech country. And it is also a world leader in terms of safety standards. To enter the local video surveillance market requires an unprecedentedly strict SIRA certification. In particular, these are the requirements of Dubai police.

Certification took place in two stages. In the first phase – for our Full HD AHD CCTV cameras and hybrid DVRs. In the second phase – for the main models in Partizan AHD and IP CCTV cameras lines. The certification has given the green light to our equipment in the UAE.

Siddhartha Lal, Director – MEA Region at Partizan Security, tells about what made this big “Dubai project” possible.

Where did it all start?

“The start of the project was given by a surprisingly important, even “historical” meeting with Mohamed Hediya, director of Limitless Technologies. This happened at the Intersec exhibition in 2019. Soon we became partners and started working on a joint project in Egypt. And later we reached a new level of cooperation, the result of which was our joint and successful work in Dubai.”

Which Partizan equipment was used in the project?

“The project involves modern CCTV cameras of a new generation with multi-streams. They can be used separately for monitoring, separately for recording, and separately for control and working with smart functions.

What challenges did you have to face?

“In the United Arab Emirates, video security systems are mandatory for all public facilities. Moreover, they must meet the technical requirements of the local regulatory authority (SIRA) and the police. Everything is more than serious. Also, when working on the project, we had to work within a very tight time frame and launch video surveillance systems in extremely important public places from the point of view of security.”

The objectives:

Simarco Logistics is a large international shipping company with offices throughout the UK, a worldwide partners network, 8 major distribution centers, its own vehicles fleet and about 30,000 square meters of warehouses! One such logistics center is located in Stoke-on-Trent town.

Project specifics:

Since Simarco is an international company, the security requirements are very high. Representatives of the company asked the installation company DB Security to provide video surveillance and access control systems.

The logistics center is not just warehouses and offices but also a large open area where trucks constantly run. Representatives of the installer company came to the customer’s location and demonstrated the security systems from different manufacturers and negotiations were conducted for several weeks. After several meetings a choice was made. Image quality, ease of software usage as well as good price – all these factors were in favor of video surveillance system from Partizan.

The solution:

About 60 Partizan IP CCTV cameras and Paxton access control system were installed at the facility.

Several IPS-220X-IR robotic IP cameras with a resolution of 2.0 MP, 20x optical zoom and IR LED up to 200 meters were installed there. CCTV cameras rotate according to the route (track) specified in the program, and they can also be controlled using the PNK-3A-PTZ controller.

Dome and outdoor IP cameras with a resolution of 5.0 MP monitor the territory, warehouses and offices of the logistics center.

As we mentioned earlier, this facility has a rather large territory, so it is not always possible to lay cable routes. For example, there is a sufficiently large distance between the supports inside the warehouses, therefore, to transfer the image from the cameras, it was decided to use Ubiquiti access points in some areas and thus connect them all into the single system.

For recording and playback of video 32 channels recorders are used.

The Results:

According to Simarco Logistics reviews – it is now one of their best facilities in terms of the quality of security systems. One more our customer was satisfied and we do hope that in the nearest future he will want to update the security systems at the other 7 centers.

The objectives:

CIE Automotiv is one of the largest international companies engaged in automobile replacement parts manufacturing. Among their clients, there are famous brands like Tesla, Volksvagen, BMW, Jaguar, Ford and many others.

To understand the scale of their business, production lines of CIE Automotiv are located in 101 countries all around the globe. One of them is in Oradea, Romania. This is where our story goes.

Project specifics:

The security service of the factory located in Oradea contacted to Zeco Electronics company for the purpose of installation of an access control system. It was required to equip more than 50 passage points throughout all the territory of the plant.

By the agreement terms, the installation company had to provide several solutions from various security equipment manufacturers and tell about functional characteristics of each of them in detail. After considering all options, the consumer made their choice in favor of Partizan access control system. This solution was the winner not only in price to quality factor, but in functionality as well.

The solution

There were 50 network controllers PAC-22.NET and 100 readers PAR-E6 Black installed in the object.

This model of controller is designed for two two-way passage points (2 doors, 4 readers). Non-volatile memory of the controller can store data for 10 years without electric supply, and holds information on 30 000 users and 60 000 events.

The main advantage of all Partizan network controllers is that they are independent from each other, but can be easily assembled into a united, holistic system.

Free software supplied with the equipment provides time attendance control, photo verification module, access control management, has a module of graphic plans, and also allows for creating unlimited remote workstations and connecting unlimited number of controllers into one system.

The result

Zeco Electronics easily managed to install and set up a solution for this large-scale project, as this is not the first time they provide to their clients access control solutions from Partizan. The customer is satisfied with the results and the way their security system works, because Partizan solutions are not only secure and cost effective, they are really comfortable to work with.

The objectives

The Ministry of Environment of Bangladesh required a modern security system for one of its offices. The Ministry was founded more than 30 years ago as the country started to encounter apparent ecological problems. Since that time, about a dozen offices were opened in different regions of the country, and for their coordination it was decided to open an administrative center in the capital and the largest city of Bangladesh, Dhaka. The center was to be located in a 15-story building, which had to be equipped with video surveillance cameras.

Project specifics

The Ministry held a tender for the security system installation services. You may already know from your own experience that a government agency is an extremely picky and highly demanding customer. The installing contractor took into account all their wishes and specific features of the object and offered the best solution by quality-price ratio. As a result, a security project from Endeavour Technologies Ltd based on Partizan equipment had won the competition.

The solution

For video surveillance system, outdoor cameras with 5.0 MP resolution were selected. The model is an optimal choice for outdoor surveillance during any time of day and night. 5.0 MP sensors from American manufacturer OmniVision plus IR-illumination with effective range up to 30 meters allow for quality image of the area in sunlight as well as in the dark.

A PRO-series 64-channel digital video recorder NVH-6452 is used for video storage. The model can hold 8 hard drives up to 10Tbytes each and has RAID support, which guarantees fail-safe video recording. H.265 codec provides efficient compression for high resolution videos without perceivable quality loss, saving hard drive space considerably.

As it was one of the first major joint projects for Endeavour Technologies and Partizan Security, the contractors had to turn to us for technical support quite a few times. Notwithstanding a considerable time difference, they were receiving answers to their requests in the most timely manner possible. At the project’s final stage, the engineers of the two companies conducted a cooperative launch of the system and had configured it in accordance with all of the client’s requirements.

Project results

One more of the Ministry of Environment offices is fitted with a modern and reliable video surveillance system. Fifty Partizan cameras help the security department keep order in the building.
As for our partners, Endeavour Technologies, they continue winning tenders for security systems’ installation by offering highly dependable solutions which use the latest technologies and are based on Partizan Security equipment.

Objectives

Cairo International Airport Office (Egypt) announced a tender for the installation of a video surveillance system in five Duty Free stores and in the adjoining office building. The total area of the Duty Free Shop network at Cairo’s main airport is 4,000 sq.m. According to the results of the competition, a solution based on Partizan equipment won. The Egyptian company, the system integrator DVS Egypt, which has been a partner of Partizan Security for many years was to implement the project.

Special features

It is not that simple to secure an international airport because of the large area of the facility, the numerous staff and round-the-clock traffic of air passengers. Tens of thousands of new people come to such a site daily. That is why the requirements to security systems are very high.

Cairo Airport is the largest airport in the country and the busiest one in terms of passenger traffic. It serves more than 13 million people annually. Due to the heavy workload of Duty Free stores in the daytime, Partizan cameras were installed at night, which affected the time of the project implementation.

Another specificity of the project was that the customer had special requirements for the equipment. Video cameras had to be vandal-resistant, barely visible on the ceiling and with quick dismantling protection. Moreover, the camera lens had to be protected by high-strength shockproof glass.

Solution

Specially for this project and according to the customer’s requirements, Partizan Security engineers in a very short time designed video cameras in a fine high-strength body and with special armoured glass. These unique models were used for the first time. The level of protection and elegant design fully met the requirements of the customer.

During the project, 90 IP cameras 2MP Full HD with a professional Sony Exmor sensor were installed in five Duty Free stores and in the office building of the airport. To record video that must be stored for two months, we used 32-channel video recorders Partizan NVH-3252 Pro with 16 hard disks and RAID support for guaranteed and trouble-free recording. Due to the peculiarities of installation (at night, with a minimum “inflow” of customers), the project lasted for 2 months.

Project deliverable

The customer, the Cairo International Airport Office, remained satisfied with the rendered work. According to the approved schedule, the Partizan effective video surveillance system was installed and configured. Due to the enhanced protection and excellent image quality from IP cameras, as well as the capabilities and functions of a professional series of video recorders, the customer is now able to neutralize threats and resolve conflict situations.

A large customer, Carlsberg Corporation, needed a simple yet effective video surveillance system to secure a construction site in Copenhagen. The security objective was to monitor the construction site at night and to detect unauthorized intrusion on hazardous sites providing timely alert. The area of the construction site was 76,000 sq.m.

The new residential and office premises were located on the territory of the former Carlsberg factory. Moreover, the customer’s budget was limited. After contacting the integrator and studying customer requirements, it was offered to set a system based on Partizan brand equipment.

However, the customer had some additional requirements. It had to be a smart security system with high resolution cameras and no specialized IT team support.

Solution

High-resolution street cameras with varifocal lenses were installed on the construction site territory. 2.0MP IP Varifocal camera IPS-220X-IR and 5.0MP IP Varifocal camera IPO-VF5MP SE AF were used.

Partizan IPS-220X-IR is a robotic multifunctional camera for operating in production environment. The device is equipped with a 1/2.8″ Full HD Sony Starvis sensor and 20x optical zoom, which allows to get the maximum details of the image at a distance of 5 m to 1,000 m. Its technical features include nighttime overview of up to 200 m, patrolling at specified points around its axis, remote adjustment of viewing angle, automatic sharpening, horizontal and vertical camera control. Those parameters completely met the requirements of the project.

Another stationary camera supported a powerful infrared illumination system allowing night surveillance at a range of up to 40 m. Besides, the built-in PoE technology solved the energy supply problem, as there were no power lines in some areas of the construction site.

Special features

The project objective required to select 6 hazardous zones and assign “Motion detection” and “Perimeter breach” smart modes to them. A controlled PTZ camera was installed in each area among several fixed cameras. During detecting motion outside of working hours, fixed cameras recorded the alert and transmitted it to a video recorder. Then the recorder launched an alert tour of the PTZ camera to the specified points. The cameras were installed quickly.

However, there was another problem. It turned out that there were occasional power cuts on the construction site, which is rather common issue for this type of premises. That’s why Partizan team had to improve the firmware for automatic reboot of the system and return PTZ cameras to the working tour. Mention should be made that no one has ever managed to implement a similar function with cameras from other manufacturers before.

Project deliverable

Despite a limited budget, the customer received a simple and effective video surveillance system with smart functions thanks to Partizan equipment. A week after the system was installed, a car and a group of people who drove to the construction site without permission and tried to enter the construction materials storage area were detained.

Representatives of Carlsberg in Denmark were satisfied with the result and are ready for further cooperation with Partizan when the construction of the Carlsberg Byen Business Centre in 2022 will be completed.
